Purpose of the Job  
The Drilling Supervisor is the Company Representative on the rig site and is responsible for the safe and cost-efficient execution of all Drilling/Completion/Workover related activities in accordance with the programme. 

Responsibilities

• Ensures that the Client’s Drilling/Completion/Workover operations are conducted and aligned with the Client’s HSE Management system, Well Engineering specific HSE policies and procedures, scope of Work and  Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Management.
• Ensuring safety and environmental performance are given the highest priority during all phases of the Client’s operations.
• Responsible for dissemination of safety alerts, safety information and training material related to Process Safety, “DROPs” and other relevant information among all crew. Also ensuring that all drilling contractor’s crew and service company personnel are covered. Demonstrate safety leadership commitment to all on site.
• Monitor and report environmental issues e.g., waste pit conditions, spills, handling of dry cuttings etc.
• Ensure handling of waste fluid is as per contract.
• Arrange transfer of Crude/Diesel flow back fluid to the Client’s recyclers and formation flow back fluid to the Client’s designated pits.
• Generate high quality DDR; including daily costs and Process Safety sheet with all possible relevant information, check the report before submission to the head office. Discuss Process Safety sheet in site morning meetings.
• Report and quality check the well data reported in company reporting system (Open wells) in order to provide high quality data stored in data management systems. 
• Generate phase wise drilling operation information reports, describing problems encountered, lesson learnt, and mitigation measure initiated. Do mention if any new innovative ideas introduced while dealing with problems and in overall improvement of efficiency of drilling operations. Create this report immediately after completion of phase and send the compiled report to office Drilling Engineer to include in EOW report.
• Check all conductors are in place as per requirement for the Drilling schedule. Arrange installation of conductors as required. Ensure Waste pits and Flare pit suitable for commencing drilling operations and if any work required make arrangements with the responsible department.
• Prepare Pad handover, with photographs as required of any issues, and get them signed off along with Pad drawing with slot numbers marked clearly from the Production Manager/Project Manager. Take over Pads for next rig move. 
• Discuss next pad move plan with contractors Site Supt and accordingly visit the next pad. Check for the requirements for safe transport and placing of rig. Accordingly arrange with Production, Project and environmental department for rectifying the shortcomings whatever possible before rig moves in.

Experience/Qualifications Needed

• University Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 15 + years well operations management experience. Min 8+ years experience as Senior Drilling Supervisor, out of which minimum 3 years International experience as a Drilling Supervisor is must.
• Earlier experience with Vedanta’s Rajasthan operations is preferred.
• Excellent understanding of and Drilling and Workover operational management and Supervision. ‘
• Good understanding of PTW system & isolation requirements, hazard identification, STOP authority, Night driving practices and load lifting practices.
• Must have excellent command of the English Language (written and oral) combined with excellent communication skills. 
• Fully skilled in Well Engineering software’s and computer reporting. (EDM, Open Well, Excel, etc.)
• Valid IWCF Level 4 Certificate is a must.
