Piping Engineer (FPSO)

· Responsible for organization and overall operations of the Piping in the Engineering department of EPC division within Safety, Quality, on Schedule and budgetary target set to support achieving overall department goals from initial conceptual stage through FFED, detail engineering and construction with expertise in offshore (FPSO,FSO etc) oil and gas industry projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead and manage the piping engineering and design of the project work scopes

· Broad technical knowledge of engineering designing of Electrical Power systems & Controls in basic design, detailed engineering and production stages for systems for marine and offshore platforms, FPSO, FSO etc.

· Single-point responsibility for all piping deliverables and ensure that they confIrm to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client’s policies and procedure

· Ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet the asset operational need

· Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to piping design and engineering

· Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary

· Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule

· Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion

· Promote safe behaviour at all times

· Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline

· Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, FEED, detailed engineering and construction

· Provide technical support to site in terms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing, etc

· Assist in the coordination of all activities related to piping deliverables

· Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required

· Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)

· Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred

· Minimum of 10-15 years experience in the offshore (FPSO) oil and gas industry

· Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company

· At least 12 months experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction

· Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for piping design and selection

· Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred

· Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of piping design and analysis

· Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards

· Experience of participation in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies
