HVAC & Building Services Engineer

 
Role Description

Specialist in the design of HVAC systems for industrial buildings; at least two years of experience in the design of air conditioning systems for civil and/or industrial buildings and specific knowledge of main related international standards are required.

Professional skills:

  • Technical capability to outline the design criteria for HVAC systems, taking into consideration mechanical, electrical and instrumentation aspects;
  • Technical capability to understand contract requirements, specifications and design basis, providing a correct interpretation of the critical aspects;
  • Technical capability to develop architectures and solutions for the HVAC systems, with proper attention to coordination between the various technological systems in buildings and in accordance with project requirements in terms of product quality and execution time;
  • Technical capability to prepare and/or check project documentation, such as specification, data sheets, duct and piping layout drawings, P&I diagrams, electrical schemes, etc
  • Technical capability to evaluate job risks and weaknesses, analyze alternative approaches to the problems and properly assess the feasibility of the work;
  • Technical and managerial capacity to carry out the monitoring, coordination and scheduling of design activities performed by outside suppliers.

Basic knowledge required:

  • Good knowledge of main HVAC equipment characteristics and related installation and testing procedure and methods
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, specifically related to the selection of equipment and related control systems
  • Computer skills, specifically good knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD or Microstation), specific technical software (Carrier, MC4) and modelization tools (REVIT, Navisworks)
  • Experience in the specific design of technological systems within buildings, including budgeting and cost estimating, activities planning and quality control.

 

Preferred education:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Fluent English

 Additional Information

  • Site role based in Bonny Island, Rivers State
  • 10 hours a day, 6 days a week standard working condition. Monday – Saturday
  • Average working hours per week is 60 hours
  • Average working hours per month is 240 hours
  • Monthly rotation but might vary based on Job demand / requirement
  • Day NET rate of between NGN 55,000 – NGN 60,000 for days worked and for standard 10 hours worked per day. 
  • Approved overtime and Holiday work hours between NGN 8,250 – NGN 9,000 per hour
  • 12 months contract with possible extension
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Food & Beverage, Domestic Flight, Domestic Accomodation, Security provided by Client
  • HMO and Pensions available 
  • No relocation allowance/ additional benefits not listed here.
