March is a time to celebrate the courage, resilience, and leadership of women around the world. In the energy sector, women continue to contribute their expertise, helping drive the industry forward.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, the WTS Energy México team launched the initiative “Women with Energy.” This initiative creates a space to recognize and highlight the voices, experiences, and contributions of women working across the energy sector.
In this article, we share the stories of four women from our consultant community. Through their experiences, challenges, and advice, they offer valuable insights and inspiration for others pursuing careers in the industry.

Women with energy: voices that inspire
Alba Molina: Keep learning continuously
Working as a Roustabout in the energy sector for the past seven years, Alba has built her experience in a demanding and fast-paced environment. One of the biggest challenges in her career has been finding her place in an industry historically led by men, where women often need to prove their capabilities more than once to access the same opportunities.

Mary Cruz: Fight for your goals
With three and a half years of experience in the offshore oil and gas sector, Mary has learned that determination is essential to building a career in this field. One of the biggest challenges she faced was finding a company willing to give her the opportunity to prove herself and achieve her goals. It was not an easy journey, but confidence in her own abilities and a strong desire to succeed helped her move forward, even in situations where people doubted that women could perform the tasks required in this environment.

Eridani Lopez: Invest in your growth
With nearly five years of experience in the energy sector, Eridani has worked in both operational and technical roles, supported by a background in Petroleum and Gas Engineering and a master’s degree in Operational Management Engineering. One of the biggest challenges in her career has been breaking gender stereotypes and proving that women can perform at the same technical and operational level in an environment where there are still few women in field roles.
Rather than seeing this as a barrier, she took it as a responsibility to demonstrate through results that talent and capability have no gender. Building credibility within multidisciplinary teams required strong technical preparation, discipline, and consistent work, but over time, performance opened the door to respect and new opportunities.

Luz Alfaro: Never give up
Luz has been in the industry for 6 years, in the ATP category for 1 year and a few months, and this has become her greatest passion because it keeps her close to what she truly love.
Throughout her journey, one of the biggest challenges has been overcoming the assumptions that often come with being a woman and earning the trust of colleagues in an environment that demands both physical and mental endurance.

Building a stronger, inclusive energy sector
Through initiatives like Women with Energy, WTS Energy is proud to recognize the stories, strength, and dedication of women working across the energy sector. Each experience shared reminds us that passion, resilience, and professionalism continue to open new paths for future generations. We are proud to celebrate the women who, every day, help move this industry forward.
