The utility scale Offshore Wind market in the US is expanding rapidly, to meet commitments from the States for renewable energy generation and carbon free energy solutions for the next decade and beyond. The Offshore Wind Tendering/Commercial Manager, is responsible for all tendering activities related to offshore wind, including qualification for, preparation, and submission of tenders to Offshore Wind developers and Tier 1 clients. This is a key position to support strategic entry into the burgeoning US offshore wind market and capture a tremendous growth opportunity as the world transitions to cleaner, carbon free sources of energy.
Duties and responsibilities:
Bring expertise in developing project opportunities through the business development process and identify key elements required for successful RFQ pursuits. Thoroughly review and evaluate client requests for proposals, RFQs.
Tendering process may include Qualification, Win Strategy Development, Tender Kick Off, BD Planning and Management, Review and Approval Management, Client Support Services and Tender Close Out.
Establish a project-win strategy and drive development of the overarching tender workplan across all workstreams, including qualification, proposal development, pricing, competitive intelligence, technical solution development and legal/contract management.
Develop consistent cadence and communications across the offshore wind team, to help the proposal team think holistically to bring the right mix of solutions and assets to enable and effect the best outcome for the client.
Ongoing qualification, coordination of all required internal approvals, identification of required resources, management of the solution/proposal development, management of client interactions during the tendering process, and support for negotiations and closing activities.
Ensure flawless execution throughout the bidding process and make sure bidding activities occur on time and with high quality from receipt to bid submission.
Provide direction on commercial and technical risk management throughout the tendering process.
Minimum qualifications needed:
Full COVID 19 Vaccination Required
BS in Engineering or related field; MBA is a plus;
5+ years of experience in tendering/commercial roles;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and flexibility to work with Tender Management software;
Excellent oral and written communications;
Excellent people skills and agile management of proposals.
Must have previous long-term tenure employment history.
