Job Description

For one of our Clients, we are looking for a Product Specialist Engineer who will provide technical input regarding the product line and lead engineering functions including production implementation. You will work directly with the Customer, Roll-out Mangers, Project Managers and Engineers to correctly scope and prioritise your efforts in this role.

Our client offers flexible, scalable technology solutions for electric vehicles. Their electric vehicle charging stations support the adoption and growth of low-emission e-mobility in over 20 countries worldwide

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

 Coordinate between the Customer, The Company and associated Supply Chain

  Actively participate in mentoring and training the technicians and engineers across multiple teams

  Support the teams of commissioning, production and customer experience

  Maintain adequate documentation of your work,create and update product documentation such as user manuals and datasheets as necessary

  Report to the General Manager on key aspects of relevant design, including calculations, analysis, integrity and representative imagery. Ensure adequate and timely notice to the General Manager of any critical issues brought to your attention

  Attend and actively participate in meetings as required. You will need to be able to provide relevant technical information, including relevant standards, identified issues, design constraints and design opportunities. Keep accurate notes to enable action of assigned tasks

  Work in accordance with the established Business Plan and Standard Operating Procedures under the direction of the Managing Director to ensure that all activities related to your assigned projects are performed in an effective, professional and timely manner

  Identify and develop new market / product opportunities derived from the company’s electric vehicle technology, including our rapid charger products. Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging technologies and competitor threats

 Develop and grow the businesses reputation and always act promptly to up-hold the businesses reputation

 Liaise with all clients in a professional and courteous manner with a view to improving the company’s reputation within the industry and increasing business opportunities

 Work as a team member by assisting other areas of the business when required or as directed by the General Manager or Managing Director

• Work within ISO9001 equivalent Quality standards

 Adhere to the company’s WHS policy and procedures

 Coordinate integration testing with external parties 

Requirements

 Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

 Electronic product design and analysis experience

 Deep knowledge of Power electronics, Power Circuit Topologies and Control systems (inverter, DC/DC, IGBTs, MOSFETs, vehicle communication networks including CANbus and associate protocols, signal conditioning and filter circuitry etc.)

 Understanding of Vehicle Charging Standards, EMC and other relevant global standards

 Experience using simulation tools for power / frequency / integrity / thermal assessments (MATLAB/Simulink, Simplorer, LTSpice, Maxwell, etc.)

 Experience of GPDS / PCS and Engineering planning and delivery processes

 Experience of full product development lifecycles both hardware and software based

 Knowledge of Linux system (preferred)

 Project management experience at both a task and project planning level

 Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

 Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

 Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics

 Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently

 Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude

 Ability to consistently work to a high standard with minimal supervision; self-motivated

 Capable of working in a reactive and pressured environment

 Strong attention to detail and analytical problem solver

 Strong troubleshooting/ fault finding ability
