Job Description

The Financial Reporting Analyst has responsibility for preparing the company’s periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings), internal financial reporting packages and working with the company’s external financial auditors. The position requires an understanding of regulatory filing requirements, accuracy and timeliness in completion of deliverables and an application of knowledge to the company’s financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A and other areas of Financial Reporting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q and other SEC filings) including schedules, supporting documentation and tie-outs

Prepare cash flow statement and cash flow sensitivities

Compile monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages

Coordinate data requests and analysis with internal and external auditors

Prepare journal entries and analyses related to share-based compensation and leases

Assist with consolidating entries and presentation of standalone subsidiary financials

Work with financial planning systems including IBM Cognos

Research and resolve inquiries for the Accounting Department and Senior Management; prepare variance analysis and explanations.

Assist the Accounting Department with technical accounting research, consolidation, revenue recognition, share-based compensation, leases and overall financial review.

Prepare ad hoc business analyses for Senior Management

Routine communication with supervisors relating to SEC filings, financial close, issues and deliverables

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA or parts passed (Please note in Education area on resume)

2+ years of CURRENT Financial Reporting experience

Would like for resource to have Big Four/Public Accounting experience; Not mandatory, however THIS IS HIGHLY PREFERRED & WILL BE THE FIRST CANDIDATES TO INTERVIEW

Must have solid skills running reports for management

Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills (written and verbal)

Detail oriented; values accuracy and timeliness in preparation of deliverables

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage competing priorities

Demonstrate understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience with ViewPoint, OnBase, and Cognos software

Relevant experience in the construction, manufacturing or marine industries is a plus.
