Engineering Manager (Power Plant)

Job Description

WTS Energy is seeking to hire an Engineering Manager with experience in Power Plant projects to be based in Dubai for an EPCM project.

Job Specification

·        The Engineering Manager (Power Plant) will lead all engineering activity as part of the provision of Project Management Consultant (PMC) services for the Power Plant Project. This will include ensuring that all engineering activity by EPC Contractor meets the requirements of the Contract and the Client, resolving engineering issues and managing the PMC engineering resources.

Responsibilities

·        Assure correct performance of the following activities by EPC Contractor

o   Development of the Engineering Deliverables list

o   Quality of the Design outputs

o   Incorporation of Company comments into the Engineering Design

o   Engineering studies

o   Coordination of Vendor Design documentation

·        Monitor and drive Engineering progress in terms of both quality and schedule

·        Manage and communicate all performance, resource, risk, cost, quality and schedule aspects of the engineering design process on behalf of the Client

·        Management of PMC discipline engineers to ensure quality and schedule requirements are met

·        Ensure safe design and quality of engineering deliverables

·        Identify and resolve engineering issues

·        Identify and resolve potential engineering conflicts between EPC Contractor’s design and Client’s and Contract’s requirements

·        Manage project engineering interfaces both internally and externally

·        Review routine reports, initiate appropriate actions, and ensure actions are completed in the correct timeframe

·        Prepare ITT documents

·        Plan, manage and participate in tender technical evaluations

·        Anticipate future tasks and challenges and prepare plans for review and approval

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in any of the main Engineering branches. Electrical preferred but not essential.

·        Minimum 20 years’ experience in power plant related projects and related project design and engineering

·        Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in project delivery as an Engineering manager in relevant industry

·        Ability to write clear accurate English

·        Experience as an engineering manager in multi-discipline EPC projects - essential

·        Experience as engineering manager in PMC role – essential

·        Experience as engineering manager on project with significant power generation and distribution scope
