Learn more about our workforce solutions

At WTS Energy, our consultants are at the heart of everything we do. We recruit, mobilize, and support them as they work with our clients across the globe to deliver expertise in demanding environments. Whether theyโ€™re on site, relocating for a new opportunity, or taking on a new challenge, their dedication and insight inspire us. Thatโ€™s why we created our bimonthly consultant newsletter in Consultant-to-Consultant style, where consultants share their experiences, insights, and stories directly with their peers worldwide.

This is the tenth edition of our newsletter, a small but meaningful milestone that weโ€™re proud to celebrate with you, especially in this year marking WTS Energyโ€™s 25th anniversary. Over the past nine editions, 37 consultants have shared their stories, insights, and experiences. These personal contributions have helped build a true global community. For this special edition, we reached out to some of the previously featured consultants to hear how life has changed since we last spoke.

Updates from the field: What our consultants are up to

Charles, from the Maintenance Department in Kenya, first featured in our very first edition, shared his ambition to grow into a leadership role. Two years later, he reflects on his progress and the rewarding challenges heโ€™s taken on:

โ€œSince we last connected, Iโ€™ve been involved in a major maintenance project in East Africa focusing on optimizing operational efficiency in a vegetable oil extraction plant at Kenya. Itโ€™s been a rewarding experience, offering new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Thanks again for including me, and hereโ€™s to many more successful years ahead for the WTS Energy family!”

In our 7th edition consultant newsletter, Irwing, a drilling permitting engineer in Mexico, shared his wish to stay active in the global oil and gas industry. Now, just a few months later, heโ€™s doing exactly that, taking on a new challenge in a deepwater drilling project.

โ€œAfter almost four years on assignment in Mexico, I completed that project in January 2025. I have now joined a new deep water drilling project in Mexico, and with WTS Mexico. Itโ€™s a challenging assignment, 12 development wells to complete in just six months! Undoubtedly, something very interesting.โ€

And Sergio, who first appeared in our Earth Day feature as a Safety Manager promoting sustainability in FLNG operations, now shares how heโ€™s continuing his professional journey with new responsibilities and renewed purpose.

”Transitioning from one company to another has been a valuable experience marked by continuous growth, development, and learning. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I had to collaborate with my previous company, WTS Energy, where I was able to strengthen my skills, take on new challenges, and contribute meaningfully to projects. Now, Iโ€™m beginning a new chapter with an energy company in Mexico. I carry with me all that Iโ€™ve learned and am excited to continue evolving professionally and personally. I look forward to embracing new responsibilities and contributing to the success of my new team.โ€

Also joining us in this edition is Dorothy, a Field HSE Supervisor based in Kenya. Her expertise continues to play a key role in promoting safety and sustainability across complex operational environments.

“Since I last contributed, Iโ€™ve experienced a meaningful career progression within WTS Energy. I transitioned from the role of HSE Supervisor to Field HSE Supervisor in September 2024 under the client’s project. This change has not only elevated my scope of responsibility but also deepened my engagement in strategic HSE planning and environmental impact management in the agricultural and energy sectors.

In my current role, Iโ€™ve had the opportunity to lead risk assessments, support emergency response planning, and work closely with stakeholders to promote safety and sustainability at every level. The experience has been incredibly fulfilling and aligns with my broader professional goals in advancing workplace health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

Thank you once again for the opportunity to share my journey, and I look forward to celebrating this milestone with the global WTS Energy community. “

Jackline, an HSE specialist in Kenya with over seven years of experience. She previously shared how she stays passionate about her work in our consultant newsletter. One year later, she reflects on the deeper role of leadership in building a strong safety culture:

”One year on, Iโ€™ve come to truly appreciate the critical role leadership plays in safetyโ€” from boardroom decisions to boots on the ground. Thatโ€™s where it all begins.
At the heart of effective leadership is a duty of care: prioritizing the safety and well-being of team members above the pressure to meet deadlines or hit targets. That, to me, is the true measure of leadership.

Iโ€™m grateful to be part of a team that consistently leads by example, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to safety, and never hesitating to return to the drawing board when needed. Because real safety leadership starts at the top, and itโ€™s sustained by a willingness to reflect, re-strategize, and improve.โ€
