Job Description

Job Summary:
WTS Energy is seeking a Vice President of Health, Safety, Quality & Assurance (HSQA) to lead and oversee comprehensive HSQA programs within the organization. This role is integral to a company operating in maritime and shipyard environments, focusing on maintaining compliance with legal, regulatory, and international standards. The VP will develop and implement HSQA strategies, drive continuous improvement initiatives including digital transformation, and ensure the maintenance of ISO certifications. They will also lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and foster a proactive safety and quality culture across all operational sites. Candidates can expect to engage with senior leadership, lead a team of HSQA professionals, and influence organizational excellence through robust health, safety, and quality practices.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute comprehensive HSQA strategies aligned with WTS Energy’s organizational objectives to ensure robust health, safety, and quality standards.
• Champion a proactive culture of safety, compliance, and quality across all operational levels, fostering employee engagement and accountability.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including the digital transformation of HSQA processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and certification of ISO standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Direct risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Facilitate and lead safety committees and stakeholder compliance activities to promote collaborative safety governance.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing HSQA team to support organizational excellence and sustainability.
• Monitor, analyze, and report HSQA performance metrics to senior leadership, driving data-informed decision-making and continuous enhancement.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 20 years of comprehensive experience in Health, Safety, Quality, and Assurance (HSQA) roles.
• At least 8 years of direct HSQA experience within shipyard environments.
• Professional certifications including CMIOSH or an equivalent recognized HSQA certification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Lead Auditor certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proven senior leadership experience managing HSQA teams and programs.
• Extensive expertise in maritime, shipyard, or oil & gas HSQA operations.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, hazard identification, incident investigation, and compliance processes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and promote a proactive safety and quality culture across multiple sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Additional Lead Auditor certifications in other ISO standards.
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives within HSQA functions.
• Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team development capabilities.
• High attention to detail combined with strong organizational and reporting skills.
