  • Promote inherently safe design principles and risk reduction hierarchy throughout project phases.
  • Collaborate with WHP and SURF engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Provide technical safety input during tendering and contract management processes, including document reviews, technical queries, non-conformance reports, and cost or schedule evaluations.

  • Lead safety assurance audits related to MAH, barrier health, and Case for Safety.
  • Support development and review of barrier performance standards for operational handover.
  • Participate in pre-startup safety reviews, commissioning safety checks, and operational readiness activities.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned from previous and ongoing projects.
  • Lead or support incident and accident investigations related to process safety events.
  • Provide process safety training and awareness sessions across disciplines.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CIA in Process Safety Management) are desirable.
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in offshore projects.
  • Proven expertise in international safety standards and barrier management.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety design and detailed engineering reviews for offshore facilities including FPSOs, topsides, and pipelines.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of HSES-Q Management Systems (ISO 9000, 14000, 45000, 31000).
  • Expertise in risk management methodologies such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, Bowtie, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
  • Strong understanding of human factors, occupational health, and safety-in-design principles.
  • Experience in audit planning and execution.
  • Ability to manage external safety consultants and interpret risk assessment outcomes.
  • Experience in incident and accident investigation methodologies.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in agile, cross-functional, and multicultural environments.
  • Strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
