Shift Tunnel Engineer – Major Highway Tunnel | Romania Location: Curtea de Arges, Mountain region, Romania
Project: 1.7 km highway tunnel through challenging terrain
Type: Full-time, site-based

About the Role:
Join one of Romania’s most anticipated infrastructure projects! As a Shift Tunnel Engineer, you’ll oversee daily tunnel excavation and support works during your shift, ensuring operations run safely, on time.

Key Duties:

• Supervise tunnel excavation, lining, and support works
• Coordinate daily shift activities with site teams and subcontractors
• Monitor safety, ventilation, and site conditions
• Ensure compliance with technical plans and quality standards
• Report progress and support the tunnel construction team

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mechanical Engineering
• ~5 years’ tunneling experience (road/rail/underground)
• Knowledge of excavation methods and tunnel support systems
• Good English; Romanian is a plus
• Willing to work shifts on a mountain site
