Senior NDT Specialist Level 3 NDT certification

(NDT Engineering & Inspection Services)

Location: Paris + 2 days remote per week

Start date: ASAP – Duration: 1 year renewable

The Consultant will provide specialized NDT support and inspection services with the following responsibilities:

• Participate in technical coordination meetings (e.g., Kick-off Meetings, Project Interface Meetings, audits) alongside clients, partners, and subcontractors.
• Review and interpret client and partner specifications, and prepare customized technical deliverables.
• Evaluate and comment on technical documentation provided by vendors or subcontractors during FEED and EPC phases. This includes: NDT procedures, inspection reports, personnel certifications, etc.
• Contribute expert input to associated welding and quality documentation (e.g., welding books, PWHT procedures, ITPs, testing methods) through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Address technical queries during the clarification stage, ensuring compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Report directly to the Lead Materials & Welding Engineer.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication with other engineering disciplines (e.g., piping, pressure vessels, procurement), particularly on NDT and welding topics during bid evaluations.
• Conduct on-site technical visits to vendor or fabrication facilities when necessary to resolve major non-conformities.
• Perform gap analyses comparing applicable fabrication and inspection codes (e.g., ASME, EN/ISO, DNV, API, AWS, ASTM) relevant to piping, pressure vessels, and structural elements.
• Draft NDT specifications to be included in procurement material requisitions.
• Determine and recommend appropriate inspection techniques (e.g., VT, PT, MT, RT, UT, PAUT, TOFD, Eddy Current) for critical NDT operations.
• Support the resolution of deviations and provide expert input during technical assessments.
• Assist QC Coordinators and construction teams with NDT-related technical issues.
• Deliver on-site expertise, including advanced supervision during NDT training or cross-verification activities at fabrication sites or vendor facilities.
• Proactively coordinate with engineering, vendors, and construction stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution.

Required Expertise To fulfill this scope of work, the Consultant must demonstrate the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the engineering and construction of pressure vessels, piping, and structural systems for onshore/offshore projects in the energy sector.
• At least 5 years of hands-on field experience in NDT operations.
• Valid Level 2 NDT certifications (mandatory) in at least the following methods: PT, MT, RT, UT, PAUT, TOFD.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and codes: ASME, EN/ISO, DNV, API, AWS, ASTM, etc.
• Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Proficiency in relevant software: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Autodesk, and others (please specify).
• Autonomous, adaptable, and proactive in delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Possession of Level 3 NDT certification and/or internationally recognized welding inspection credentials would be advantageous.
