Job Description

For one of our clients in the construction industry, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with an operational on-site role, for a manufacturing / industrial project in Yaoundé, Cameroon. You will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of project quantities and work progress, both with the Client and Subcontractors. The role also involves supporting variation management, cost control, and claims assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and prepare work progress statements (SAL/SIL) for both Client and subcontractors
• Monitor site progress and ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
• Support the preparation and valuation of contract variations, including new unit rates
• Assist in the quantification of claims and additional costs
• Coordinate with Planning, Cost Control, Procurement, and Engineering teams
• Manage subcontractor progress, payments, and contractual aspects
• Follow the approval cycle through to final payment

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• 5–7 years’ experience in construction projects of significant size/complexity
• Strong experience in commercial management / quantity surveying
• Advanced French (mandatory – client-facing role)
• Good understanding of contracts and technical documentation (BoQ, drawings, specs, etc.)
• English is a strong advantage
