Project Manager – Pipeline

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Project Manager leads complete FEED and or Detailed Engineering Projects for onshore long‑distance pipeline systems (oil, gas, NGL, multiphase, or refined products).
  • Manage overall project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, risks, and performance KPIs from concept through handover.
  • Coordinate and integrate all technical disciplines (pipeline, process, mechanical, civil/structural, geotechnical, instrumentation/SCADA, electrical, corrosion, hydraulic analysis).
  • Drive engineering readiness, design reviews, constructability assessments, and design optimization workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with international design codes (Typ. ASME B31.4/B31.8, API, ISO), route selection standards, geohazard guidelines, and client technical specifications.
  • Oversee hydraulic simulations, pipeline wall‑thickness calculations, stress analysis, transient flow analysis, and surge studies.
  • Guide route selection, ROW acquisition support, geotechnical surveys, HDD/boring strategies, and environmental impact considerations.
  • Ultimately approve engineering deliverables prepared by Engineering Team.
  • Supports and supervises the preparation of Technical Packages for project procurements, advises Clients in the relevant invitation to tender and technical bid evaluations; Coordinate Construction, Tests and Commissioning support teams.
  • Responsible for preparing Purchase Orders for Subcontractors.
  • The Project Manager will act as primary interface to Clients, PMC Organizations, EPC Contractors, Regulatory and Permitting Agencies, and eventual JV partners.
  • Lead engagement and technical clarifications with government authorities, environmental bodies, and pipeline safety regulators and shall be able to present project status, risks, and design decisions to senior management and steering committees.
  • Ensure robust risk identification, mitigation strategies, and contingency planning throughout engineering phases.
  • Drive adherence to HSE design philosophies, integrity management principles, and ALARP considerations.
  • Ensure engineering quality control, technical assurance, and compliance audits are properly executed.
  • the PM is the ultimate responsible to ensure commercial profitability of the project and compliance with project contractual requirements.
  • Monitor, Control and Approves engineering progress to validate invoices, variations, and claims.
  • Promotes value engineering, digitalization, and lifecycle cost improvements over the Project execution period.
  • Reports to Head of Department and Branch Managing Director on a regular basis as to the progress and health status of the Project.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and project control personnel sometimes located across multiple locations.
  • Foster a high‑performance culture focused on quality of the deliverables,  collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Pipeline, Civil, Petroleum, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 15–20 years of experience in oil & gas engineering, with at least 10+ years specifically in pipeline FEED or detailed engineering.
  • Proven track record delivering cross‑country pipelines (100 km–1000+ km) including stations and associated facilities.
  • Experience in both client/owner and PMC/EPCM environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of terrain challenges (mountainous, desert, permafrost, agricultural, urban) and crossing methodologies (HDD, microtunneling, river crossings). 
  • Strong command of ASME, API, ISO pipeline codes.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline integrity, route engineering, geohazards, and construction methods.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English is mandatory
