Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Process Engineer with strong expertise in Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU), Tail Gas Treatment Units (TGTU), and Sour Water Strippers (SWS) within refinery or gas plant environments.

This role focuses on delivering advanced technical support, performance monitoring, and optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance across processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular performance evaluations of SRU and SWS units, analyzing KPIs related to operability, reliability, safety, and profitability.
• Develop and present benchmarking reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Lead and support performance improvement initiatives, ensuring measurable outcomes and gap closure.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise in:
  • Troubleshooting
  • Start-up and shutdown support
  • Capacity test runs
  • Pilot testing and optimization activities
• Deliver both remote and on-site technical advisory support, producing detailed service reports.
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing workshops and promote best practices across operations teams.
• Develop and distribute technical bulletins to ensure continuous knowledge dissemination.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement cost optimization and quick-win improvement opportunities.
• Ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices across facilities.
• Support business planning activities, including capital investment evaluations and techno-economic studies.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and process improvements for SRU and SWS performance enhancement.
• Participate in external benchmarking and industry engagement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in refinery or gas processing operations.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in SRU, TGTU, and SWS units.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize unit performance with measurable improvements.
• Strong understanding of SRU/TGTU licensor technologies and process fundamentals.
• Proven expertise in:
  • Troubleshooting
  • Start-up and shutdown operations
  • Capacity testing and performance evaluation
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
