Job Description

Position Overview The VP of HSQA is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization’s occupational health, safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs. This role ensures that all HSQA systems meet legal, regulatory, and international standards, while partnering with senior leadership and operational teams to build a strong, proactive safety and quality culture across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSQA strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and quality across all levels.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including digital transformation of HSQA processes.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).
  • Oversee programs that enhance employee engagement in health, safety, and quality.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead HSQA professionals to support organizational excellence.
  • Monitor, measure, and report HSQA performance to senior leadership.
  • Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance reviews.
  • Facilitate safety committees and drive stakeholder compliance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • CMIOSH or equivalent recognized HSQA certification.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Lead Auditor certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (additional ISO standards are an advantage).
  • Minimum 20 years of total HSQA experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience working within shipyards (mandatory).
  • Strong background in maritime, shipyard, or oil & gas HSQA environments.
  • Proven leadership experience in senior HSQA roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques.
