Job Description

The Geologist – RO, under the direction of the President – RO and Chief Operating Officer, will primarily be responsible to provide geological input to the development of new wells and post well reporting. This position will ensure outputs meet agreed schedules and deadlines while maintaining a focus on technical rigor. This role will also field reserves evaluation. The Geologist – RO must possess ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems and degree or an advanced degree in a field relating to the energy and natural resources industry.

Job Summary

Job Duties

• Provide geological input to the development of new wells and post well reporting
• Ensure outputs meet agreed schedules and deadlines while maintaining a focus on technical rigor
• Field reserves evaluation
• Evaluate and interprets geological data for the development of oil and gas projects and investment opportunities
• Responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
• Act as technical consultant in a particular field of expertise
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments
• Prepare wells for drilling, production, or abandonment
• Design, prepare, and monitor wells  
• Responsible for conducting the technical work program in exploration areas. This includes quality G&G work required to generate new leads, to mature them to drill-ready prospects and to ultimately increase reserves replacement rate (RRR)
• Provide expert knowledge and guarantee deployment of the most adequate G&G models and practices in daily work. 
• Maintain excellent cooperation with other team members and experts across the company.

 
Job Requirements

• Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
• Degree or an advanced degree in a field relating to the energy and natural resources industry
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
• 10 years of related experience with a focus on development geology
• Degree or diploma in the petroleum engineering or related discipline
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
• Sound understanding of risk management
