About the Role:
WTS Energy is recruiting Dynamic Positioning Operators on behalf of our international client for an offshore drillship operation. This critical role is responsible for the safe and precise maintenance of the vessel’s position and heading using the DP system.

Purpose of the Position:
To operate and monitor the Dynamic Positioning system to ensure the vessel’s station-keeping capabilities meet operational requirements and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate the Dynamic Positioning (DP) system to maintain the vessel’s position and heading within specified limits.
• Continuously monitor DP system performance, vessel position, and environmental conditions (wind, current, tide).
• Perform routine checks and tests on DP system equipment and report any irregularities or malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of DP operations, incidents, and system status.
• Work closely with the bridge team, the Captain, and the drilling department to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Actively participate in emergency drills and respond to DP system alarms or failures according to procedures.
• Stay current with DP procedures, operational manuals, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Valid DP Operator Certificate (Class 2 or higher preferred).
• Previous experience as a DPO on a Drillship is highly preferred; experience on Semisubmersibles.
• Comprehensive understanding of DP operations, including FMEA, capability plots, and contingency scenarios.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to work a rotational schedule 28 / 28
