Job Description

WTS Energy is looking for a Cost Controller for one of the largest heavy civil infrastructure contractors in the USA. This position focuses on managing the cost control function by overseeing project cost performance, ensuring accurate forecasting, and maintaining control over all project-related financial activities.
 
Responsibilities:

• Collect daily production data directly from the job site.
• Analyze all project activities by reviewing current performance against updated financial targets to support accurate forecasting.
• Prepare and deliver monthly cost reports to the Project Manager and Area Controller.
• Support financial decision-making through analysis of performance trends and cost drivers.
• Monitor ongoing project execution by comparing actual results with the budget, identifying significant variances where applicable.
• Contribute to bid restructuring, budget development, and forecasting for the project area in line with the approved Work Breakdown Structure (WBS/WBE), under the guidance of the AFC Manager and in coordination with the project team.
• Conduct data-driven cost simulations aimed at improving efficiency, minimizing risk, and supporting overall project success.

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, or a related field.
• Construction industry experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, depending on the complexity of the business unit.
• Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
