Title: Business Development and Administration Manager

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (with regional travel)

Industry: Energy (Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Engineering Services)

Job Purpose:

To drive business growth in the Rwanda energy market by developing and executing strategic initiatives focused on client acquisition, account management, operational excellence, compliance, and long-term partnerships across the energy sector and other engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development and Account Management

  • Develop and implement business growth strategies tailored to the Rwandese energy market.
  • Conduct ongoing market research, industry trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify new opportunities for the organization.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including lead generation, client engagement, and strategic account acquisition.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through structured account management plans, regular engagement, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to align client expectations with deliverables and timelines.
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance reports, forecasting, and account analysis.
  • Drive revenue growth through client-centric, technically sound, and value-adding solutions.

Operations and Administrative Management

  • Provide operational support to ensure high-quality service delivery, project execution, and issue resolution across all client engagements.
  • Ensure contractual compliance with client agreements, internal policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee office operations and financial performance in the Rwanda office
  • Identify and manage operational risks, escalate compliance issues, and support internal audits and due diligence activities.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, operations, or account management within the energy sector.
  • Proven success in managing key accounts, negotiating service contracts, and closing complex technical deals.
  • Skilled in CRM platforms, performance tracking tools, and client reporting frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Candidate Must reside and be eligible to work in Rwanda. 

Additional Skills

  • Experience in human capital, manpower outsourcing, or technical services within the energy industry.
  • Working knowledge of contractual obligations and compliance standards in energy projects.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with international teams and remote leadership.
  • Ability to navigate multicultural environments and build rapport with both public and private sector clients.
