Lead mechanical layout of new turbomachinery products related to integrally geared compressors.
These new products require the ability to integrate features related to: high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive gases.
Responsible for integrating support hardware into the design: lubrications systems, pumps, heat exchangers, dry gas seal systems, etc. into entire turbomachinery package. Application experience is a strong positive.
Work with the sales department and customer(s) to determine the optimal turbomachinery configuration for challenging applications.
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar discipline.
10+ years of relevant experience in design and application of turbomachinery systems. Extensive CAD and mechanical design experience related to tolerance, material selection, and design
for manufacturing and assembly. Ability to integrate aerodynamic flowpath with rotor system and casing while working with team
members to integrate limiting factors from: rotordynamics, tilting pad bearings, high cycle
fatigue, assembly and operation constraints.
Proficiency with the following software systems: CATIA
Experience with the following software is a plus: AxCENT®, Aspen Plus. Excellent oral and written
