Mechanical Engineer

  • Guide and advice Mechanical Supervisor I Contractors to ensure that on site work are performed to ensure compliance with the Company's Standards and Specifications.
  • Review work lists, prepare technical and tender specifications for Special Maintenance works to ensure that all works will comply with the Company's Standards and Specifications. 
  • Ensure that all works required as per RED, Engineering and Owner work lists are completed in order that the asset can be put back in service in a reliable and safe condition. 
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders for all Mechanical and related works to ensure that all contractor works are covered by Purchase Orders in accordance with the Company's procedures. 
  • Prepare cost estimates for Mechanical Works for Management Approval and will verify and ensure that Contractors tendered costs are acceptable in order that the Company is achieving best value and working within budget limits. 
  • Monitor costs on Mechanical works and prepare reports for Management to ensure that estimates are not exceeded in order that the Company budgets are maintained at approved levels. 
  • Carry out frequent site visits to ensure that Contractors work Safely and in accordance with the Company's EHS Regulations.  Develop and maintain, existing & new procedures and guidelines for works being done, to ensure that Company Standards and Industry Best Practices are applied.  Approve Contractors time sheets in CMM to ensure that only applicable costs are charged


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the Petrochemical I Oil and Gas industry 
  • Sound knowledge of HSE and QAIQC requirements within the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Industries. 
  • Sound knowledge and experience of administering and controlling Contracts from tendering through to completion of works. 
  • Sound knowledge of Quantity Surveying techniques and procedures. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage Contractors on the Company's behalf 
  • Driver’s license. 
  • Good computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office Applications
