Maritme Operations Representative

We are currently seeking candidates for Operations Representative in our Vancouver office. The position has responsibility to oversee, coordinate and implement all activities for vessels while in port to include boarding and husbanding vessels under minimal supervision; Determine and carry out necessary arrangements and coordination prior to the vessel’s arrival and after the vessel’s departure to affect a smooth and efficient turnaround. This is a full time position with benefits and mileage reimbursement. Must be able to work overtime due to ship call volumes, routines and hours as required. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Key Accountabilities
Operations Excellence – perform vessel’s operations as directed by port management and in accordance with company policies and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled in delivery a quality service that fully meets the principal’s needs.
Documentation – processing inward and outward clearances of all vessels at the ports covered by the port office by ensuring compliance of the required documents with laws and regulations as set down by government authorities such as Immigration and Port Authorities.
Customer/Vendor Relationship – establish and maintain formal and inform relationships with principals, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities and service providers to exchange information and views to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.
Updates – providing the port and head office management with updated information on local rules and regulations, changes in port charges as and when notifications are received to enable the company to update operational and documentation procedures and inform the principals so that full transparency of port operational requirements and costs are communicated.


Knowledge & experience in chartering, logistics, seagoing experience (general maritime industry) or experience in related field. The company offers on the job and on line training.
Knowledge in local laws, rules, and regulations.

Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline oriented environment.
Interact with principals and vendors in a professional manner.
Possession of current and valid Driver’s License and full time use of own automobile. The company will pay auto mileage and other out of pocket expenses.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to consistently & regularly attend work as required by the job to include overtime, split shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
Possess computer skills necessary to perform the job with typing skills for data entry.
Must be able to board ships. The company will provide safety clothing and equipment
