Main responsibility of this position will be to lead the Quality function for the plant and represent the voice of customers all along the supply chain at the company’s Indianapolis plant.  Reports to the Sr. Plant Director, with additional reporting channel to the America's Regional Sr. Quality ManagerAdditional responsibilities are as follows;
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the Customer voice is cascaded all along the supply chain whatever business changes.
  • Ensure that only good parts are delivered to the next step of our value chain and at optimized costs.
  • Lead the quality team in Continuous Improvement methodology, and be an active participant in Lean Manufacturing activities.
  • Create a sense of urgency in resolving quality issues and driving to root cause corrective actions.
  • Protect the plant and external customers from poor Quality by properly insuring quality at every process step.
  • Ensure that customer complaints (customer incidents, warranty returns, etc.) are properly monitored with our problem-solving tools (including improvement loops).
  • Ensure proper Quality Control audits (first article, incoming material, in-process, pre-shipment, etc.) are in place, monitored, and lessons learned are communicated to the organization.
  • Ensure the implementation of the right quality methods to have only good products delivered to the customer.
  • Maintain ISO certification and ensure that processes are current and effective.
  • Ensure site quality teams are trained in proper quality methods and Group Quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with other operational leaders, engineers, and operators to ensure that all functional areas are receiving/providing the right support from/to the Quality function.
  • Maintain Quality KPI's and present results during Monthly Operational Reviews.
  • Ensure that proper test procedures and equipment are in place to allow for compliant testing to all applicable standards (UL, NFPA, FM, & HI).
  • Keep current on all applicable industry standards and recommend/implement changes in process to maintain all current/future product standards.
  • Lead Quality team comprised of (9-10 employees)Accountable for annual Performance & Development Dialog (PDD) process for plant Quality function.
Decision Competencies
  • Will have to present quality metrics to customers, and Regional & Group Leadership.
  • Will have to execute the Quality strategy and give inputs for improvement.
  • Will make decisions on the personnel on the Quality team including hiring, termination, development of skills gap assessment, and employee development plans.
  • Will have responsibility to manage the Quality Cost Center Budget.Active member of the Plant leadership team

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree; Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ Years Quality experience Machining, Assembly, and Testing
  • Prior experience working in pump industry (preferred).
  • Experience being an active leader on the shop floor.Management experience in an industrial operational area is a plus
