The Company is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst that will perform monthly/quarterly analytical reviews, assist in preparation of financial statements, verify that all contracts and finance transactions have been recorded correctly, maintain financial statement data in the reporting system (Workiva/Wdesk), assist in the development of management reporting for operations, and other miscellaneous duties.

While this position is primarily located in the downtown Houston Headquarters office, some travel to the facility in south Texas, and to the Project Management Team (PMT) office located near Beltway 8 & Westheimer area in West Houston may be periodically required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform and review the preparation of a monthly/quarterly analytical review for all material accounts
Ensure timely and complete delivery of any documentation required to support the external and internal audits
Assist in preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements for all entities (quarterly roll-forward and review, initial drafting of face financials and various notes)
Assist in reviewing contracts and finance transactions for any accounting implications
Assist with complex accounting analysis and with drafting of accounting position memorandums
Prepare certain quarterly and ad hoc journal entries
Assist in preparation of annual GAAP budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
As necessary, provide timely and accurate input for internal management reporting through coordination with others within the accounting organization
Work closely with other groups in the accounting department, HR, legal, treasury, internal audit, external audit and other departments as necessary
Assist in developing best practices for a young and growing department
Participate in implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

 

Requirements

Proficient in US generally accepted accounting principles and standards
Experience with oversight and preparation of analytics and complex accounting matters
Knowledge of the energy industry and complex capital structures a plus
Familiarity with best practices in accounting and reporting control environments
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Experience with creation of complete financial statements (with notes)
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Solid computer skills including proficiency in Word and Excel
Versatile and proactive with a solid work ethic and strong leadership


Experience with SAP/BPC a plus
Experience with Workiva/Wdesk (or similar Financial Reporting system) a plus

 
Minimum Education Required Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA Candidate

Minimum Experience Required 1-2 years of experience in Big Four public accounting

Preferred CPA, MBA or Master’s degree in accounting
