Description
General Responsibilities:
Performs work in a variety of crafts skills required to install, construct, and repair and maintain plant equipment, utilities and structures. Mechanically and electrically maintains machine tools, forklifts, and other shop equipment. Installs and maintains power distribution and lighting systems. Performs pipe fitting and plumbing duties. Does small scale building maintenance. Directs activities of assigned helpers.

Principal Duties:
Mechanically and electrically maintains machine tool and other shop equipment. Removes and replaces broken, worn
and malfunctioning components such as:
Bearings
Gears
Spindle drives
Lead screws and nuts
Motors
Electrical contractors
Solenoids
Microswitches
Air and hydraulic cylinders
Pumps

 
Installs machine tools and other plant machinery.
Sets in place using lifting equipment or directs and assists contractor in doing.
Fabricates and connects power, water, and airlines.
Levels and balances.
Checks thoroughly before operating.
Tests runs and monitors initial operation by assigned operator.
Makes required adjustments.

Maintains Plant fork lifts
Repairs and overhauls various operation systems:
Mechanical
Electrical
Hydraulic
Cooling
Fuel

Repairs and maintains electric and pneumatic tools.
Performs duties of a maintenance electrician, monitoring plant equipment for electrical problems and making necessary
repairs for proper operation.
Installs conduit and pulls wire for new installations of lighting and electrical apparatus.
Installs and / or replaces switches, receptacles, fuses, and transformers.
Troubleshoots all plant electrical equipment utilizing multimeters, ground fault detectors, and ampmeters to make
recommendations for repair or replacement.
Distributes primary (480 volt) power to electrical equipment and all areas of the plant.

Installs switches, starters, relays, and circuit breakers.
Routes and installs conduit.
Pulls and connects wiring.
Balances loads and wires circuits.
Installs ground leads and tests continuity of circuits to insure electrical compatibility.
Maintains files of machine operating and service manuals and vendors equipment and parts catalogs.
Does some minor welding and acetylene torch cutting to repair machinery and plant structures.
Performs some carpentry and painting duties in making small-scale repairs and modifications to plant and office
building.
Directs and monitors the work of other plant personnel occasionally assigned as helpers on major maintenance
projects.
Recommends to supervisor the calling in of outside maintenance and construction contractors as needed.

Requirements

*MUST HAVE EXPERIENCED & QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WITH A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE
MUST BE QUALIFIED IN ELECTRICAL CNC REPAIR
MUST BE QUALIFIED IN HYDRAULIC REPAIR
MUST BE QUALIFIED IN PNEUMATIC REPAIR
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON MANUAL MACHINES AND FABRICATING PARTS*
